Overview

Quarter-turn locking for secure shaft attachment

Dodge® Eccentric Collar mounted ball bearings use an eccentric locking collar that secures the bearing inner ring to the shaft. The locking collar bearings fit applications that need simple shaft attachment, shock-load capability, and options for contamination protection.

The product line spans light-, normal-, and intermediate-duty series, plus Harsh Duty™ configurations, across pillow block, flange, take-up, and hanger housing styles. Its range lets you match duty level, sealing, and lubrication to each piece of equipment while keeping one familiar eccentric collar locking method across the line.

Key features and benefits

Quarter-turn eccentric collar with one set screw

A quarter-turn in the direction of shaft rotation locks the inner ring, and one set screw holds the collar for quick, simple installation.

Case-carburized inner ring

The case-carburized inner ring supports durability and high shock-load capability in demanding equipment.

Controlled fit for ±2 degrees static misalignment

The tightly controlled fit between the bearing insert and housing allows ±2 degrees of static misalignment to accommodate minor mounting errors during installation.

DualGuard™ single-lip seal with rubberized flinger

DualGuard single-lip seals with a rubberized flinger help keep contaminants out and clean grease in, extending service life.

33 percent fiberglass-reinforced nylon cage

Heat-stabilized nylon with fiberglass reinforcement flexes under misalignment for longer life and resists fatigue better than metallic cages.

Pillow block, flange, take-up, and hanger housings

Pillow blocks, 2-, 3-, and 4-bolt flanges, tapped bases, piloted flanges, take-up units, cylindrical units, and hangers help match these bearings to equipment requirements.

Product variations

SXR/SXRB

Normal-duty mounted ball bearings with a wide inner ring, cast-iron housings, DualGuard seals, Unirex N2 lithium grease, and a fiberglass-reinforced nylon cage, in bores from 1/2 inch to 2-15/16 inches.

SXV/SXVB

Intermediate-duty mounted ball bearings with a narrow inner ring and DualGuard seals, offered in pillow block, flange, tapped base, and take-up housings in bores from 1/2 inch to 2-3/16 inches.

SLX

Light-duty mounted ball bearings with a narrow inner ring and stamped-steel housing, offered in pillow block and 2-, 3-, and 4-bolt flange styles.

ABHS

Air baggage handling system (ABHS) mounted ball bearings with DualGuard seals, an anti-rotation pin, and housings machined to accept pop-in yellow end covers.

Harsh Duty series

Eccentric Collar Harsh Duty

Eccentric Collar Harsh Duty builds on the proven self-locking cam design for harsh environments. An upgraded QuadGuard™ sealing system, patented Maxlife™ cage, and optimized lubrication improve protection against solid particulate contamination to help maintain consistent performance.

  • QuadGuard sealing system with three points of contact and an integrated rubber flinger
  • Patented two-piece Maxlife cage with a dedicated grease reservoir around each rolling element
  • Mobilith SHC PM 220 synthetic grease delivers up to four times longer life than standard lithium grease
